MCO charges a $5.80 rideshare pickup surcharge (set by Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, effective July 2024). The fee is the same on both Uber and Lyft, and is automatically included in your fare estimate. Pickup logistics differ by terminal:

SunRail commuter rail does not directly reach MCO. Lynx Link bus 11 connects to Downtown Orlando for $2.00. The new Brightline train (opened September 2023) connects MCO directly to Miami and Fort Lauderdale for $79-$179 — a unique option for cross-Florida trips. Mears Connect shuttle to Disney and Universal hotels is $16-32 per person.
GOAA raised the rideshare pickup surcharge from $5.50 to $5.80 in July 2024. The bigger change was the September 2023 opening of Brightline's Orlando station inside MCO's Terminal C — the first major US airport with a high-speed rail connection inside the terminal complex.

Depending on the resort, a typical MCO-to-Disney World UberX trip computes to about $48.40 from Uber's published Orlando rates plus the $5.80 pickup fee. Peak-season weekend surge pushes the same trip toward $68.20, while an off-peak weekday ride can run closer to $38.10. The Brightline-to-Miami fare of $79 vs. equivalent UberXL pricing for groups of 4 makes the train cost-competitive for the cross-Florida trip only with luggage discounts factored in.

Mears Connect at $16-32 per person is often cheaper for families but slower (multi-stop shuttle). The Terminal C Brightline station is a genuinely new option for Miami/Fort Lauderdale trips — for groups of 2-3, the train often beats both rideshare and flights once you count parking and time-to-gate.
