Why RideWise exists

At any given moment, Uber and Lyft prices for the same route can differ by 20–40%. Surge pricing, time of day, and local demand create constant fluctuations that are invisible to riders — unless you open both apps and compare manually.

We built RideWise to solve that. Enter your route once, and we show you estimates from every major rideshare provider instantly. No app-switching, no guesswork.

RideWise aggregates publicly available rate cards from Uber, Lyft, and local taxi commissions for supported US markets to build transparent fare comparisons. Our pricing models are reviewed monthly against official rate card updates to maintain accuracy.

How our estimates work

Our estimates are calculated using publicly available rate card data for each service provider. We factor in base fares, per-mile rates, per-minute rates, booking fees, minimum fares, and typical surge pricing patterns for different times of day.

Estimates are displayed as a price range (typically ±10–15%) to account for real-world variability in traffic, demand, and routing. Actual prices may differ — always confirm the final fare in the provider's app before booking.

Our data and methodology

RideWise aggregates publicly available rate cards from Uber, Lyft, and local taxi regulatory filings for supported US markets. Our pricing models account for base fares, per-mile rates, per-minute rates, booking fees, airport surcharges, and time-of-day demand patterns. We update rate data regularly to reflect provider pricing changes.

Our analysis of rideshare pricing trends draws on publicly available rate card data, supplemented by industry reports from organizations including AAA, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and city transportation authorities.

Editorial standards

Every piece of content on RideWise is fact-checked against primary sources including Uber and Lyft's published rate cards, local taxi regulatory filings, and official airport transportation guidelines.

We clearly distinguish between estimated prices (which are projections based on rate card data) and confirmed rates (which are verified from official sources). Our blog content is reviewed for accuracy before publication and updated when pricing changes occur.

How we make money

RideWise is 100% free for riders. We earn revenue through display advertising and affiliate partnerships. We never charge users, sell personal data, or take commissions on rides you book.

Our incentive is simple: the better our estimates, the more you trust us, the more you come back. That alignment keeps us honest.

Your privacy and trust

We don't sell your data — period. RideWise requires no account, no sign-up, and no personal information to use. You can compare fares completely anonymously.

Our business model relies on advertising, not user data. This means our incentives are aligned with yours: the more accurate and helpful our estimates are, the more you return, and the more sustainable our business becomes.
